Experience
Adrian Smith has almost 30 years experience in education policy development and implementation – including in both central and local government. He has extensive experience of strategic decision making at national and local level and of the legislative process.
Adrian has particular expertise in admissions policy and implementation, place planning and school buildings, school and local authority funding, and policy for special educational needs.
Adrian has worked closely with a number of schools to review options for future organisation – including the development of partnerships with other schools or by seeking Academy status. He has produced successful bids for external funding.
Adrian has supported 7 schools through their conversion to Academy status and is working with a further 6. He is the co-author of articles on land issues for Academies.
Adrian is an Associate Member of the Association of Directors of Children's Services.
